A NOTE FROM ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL CORONA

Chapman Families,

We just have a few announcements and appreciations. So many fun events happening at Chapman that can be read about below and throughout the Chimney Flyer.

  • The International Bike to School Day was well attended this past Wednesday 5/17. They will continue every Wednesday until the end of the year.

  • Chapman Talent Show is next Thursday 5/25.

  • We want to thank our volunteers Tuesday 5/30 at 2:45 in the gym at the Volunteer Tea!

  • Chapman FUNd Run and Field Day are coming up in June.

  • Everyone has been gearing up to this year’s musical performance of The Wizard of Oz on the last week of school. Thank you Mr. Clark and the parents that are helping him organize and create the costumes and set. We also want to thank the student performers and their parents for the countless hours of practice and commitment to the musical. What a great way to continue to build community!

  • Thank you PTA for the love and support of teachers this past week. They felt cared for and pampered with your offerings of food and goodies. Teachers are truly the backbone of our school. So many valuable connections and academic growth are made thanks to each of them.

  • We have two versions of summer school being offered this year. Summer Acceleration Academy is funded by the district and our Swift Summer Program will be conducted by our Reading Specialist, Ms. Rosoff. Unfortunately we are limited in the amount of students who we can invite. If you received an invitation in the mail or by phone, please do call us back and let us know if you are able to attend.

We are near the end of the year and yet we still have about 3.5 weeks. Remember to encourage attendance and hard work until the end of the year.

CHAPMAN BIKE TRAIN - EVERY WEDNESDAY

WEEKLY WEDNESDAY BIKE TRAIN

We have 3 more weeks left of the Wednesday Bike Train!  We are back to the usual short bike train loop after celebrating International Bike to School Day this last Wednesday.  See attached for the map of the route and stop times.

We have recruited a few biking buddies so if you have a student that wants to participate but you are unable to join them, let me know and we can pair them up with their own biking buddy!

Questions - send them to  anniedusher@gmail.com.

Volunteers - if you can help out please email anniedusher@gmail.com.

BUY A CHAPMAN BRICK

As the school year ends is approaching, we are opening up our Buy a Brick store via Friends of Chapman!  Engraved bricks installed by the Chapman playground allow you to leave a legacy along with your donation to Chapman. A legacy brick can be a fabulous gift in honor of a favorite teacher, grandparents, or upcoming 5th-grade graduate.  Legacy Brick sales will be open until June 31st this year, with engraving happening this summer.

LIBRARY NEWS

Hello Chapman families!

June is just around the corner, and it's almost time for students to start returning their library books.  Students should look at home and at school for any books that they may have checked out.  They can return books to the library any time during the week.

Also, be on the lookout for PPS Library Services' annual end-of-year email notices, which will go out the first week of June.  The notice will not be a bill, but a reminder of all books that students have on their library accounts, and a request that they return all library books before they leave for the summer.

Thank you for helping us keep our library materials available for everyone to use!

IT IS TIME TO RETRIEVE YOUR ITEMS....

June 9 will be the last day to pick up lost and found!

Lost and Found will be outside May 26, June 2 and the last day June 9 (ALL DAYS 2-2:30pm).

All applicable Items left behind will be reused within the PPS community for current/new kiddos.
