Hello Swift Families,
Every day I am convinced of the fact that Chapman is better when we all work together. So much has happened already and it is only the first month of school.
I want to thank the PTA, parents and teachers who together made the 100 Year Celebration a complete success. There was so much fun happening on campus that it felt like an actual state fair. Many smiles and laughs of joy.
At school we are well underway with our first round of MAP testing. Students are giving their best for us to see where they are in their learning trajectory, giving teachers a chance to design their lessons based on student needs. Every teacher has adjusted their schedule and encouraged their class through it. Special thanks to our intervention team, Ms. Rosoff, Ms. Lommen, Ms. Kemper, Ms. Esquivel Valdez and Mr. Reynolds. Your support in testing and setting up small group interventions is key to getting students what they need.
Back to School Night was a complete success! Thank you for coming to enjoy pizza together and checking in with your child’s teacher. Hope you had a chance to sign up for Conferences in November. If not, reach out to your student’s teacher for a preferred time.
We just had our first Lockdown Drill. Students followed the safety expectations to stay quiet in their class until one of us came to open the door. That really takes a lot of patience and self control from them. Good job Swifts!
Have a restful weekend everyone.
