A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL VAN DER WOLF

Greetings Swift Families!

It was so wonderful to see everyone at conferences ! We had a wonderful turnout and all of our Chapman staff was thankful to have the opportunity to connect and engage with the families of our incredible students.

Last week we had the opportunity to host some visiting principals from other PPS elementary schools. They all agreed that Chapman provides a warm and welcoming learning environment for students that truly supports their sense of belonging. We witnessed both teachers and students taking risks and trying new things, and heard the use of strong academic language emphasized and celebrated. They were also impressed with the effective use of learning targets and success criteria.

This week we have an early release day on Wednesday, 12/10. In the afternoon, teachers will be engaging in a training from our district’s autism specialist, who will be teaching us about the needs of neurodivergent students in the classroom.

GO HOME FOLDER HELP

The folders are proving to be a successful way to get information home, but we need help on Tuesday mornings getting them stuffed. Do you have an hour to spare? Sign up here

A WARM WINTER BREAK SEND-OFF

Before we all part for the long winter break, be sure to come say hi on Friday, Dec. 19 and grab some drip from the dads (courtesy of Dragonfly Coffeehouse). Dads With Drip (aka Greg Miller and David Labonte) will be out front of the school at drop-off with hot coffee and special cozy treats from the PTA President, Jen Kane.
