A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL VAN DER WOLF

What a glorious several days we’ve had in a row. Everything is blooming, including our children and their learning. The final weeks of school are always such exciting ones because we see the hard work of the year paying off. After a long unit of study about the civil rights era that included a great deal of writing instruction, students in Mr. Kelley’s class created this video about Ruby Bridges. So much is happening in our classrooms!

We are excited for this year’s Art Night! Join us this Thursday for Chapman’s Art Night: “The Art of Doing”! Enjoy live performances, hands-on art experiences, and a celebration of creativity across the school. 5:30–730 pm. All families welcome. Don’t be late.

With everything going on in Portland Public Schools right now, it is an excellent time to get involved! Share your input on the future of Portland's Schools and attend one of our Board Engagement Sessions

LOST & FOUND: COME & CLAIM IT

Last call! After the April 17 Round-Up, all items left in the Chapman Lost & Found will be donated to make room for the incoming Spring Shed. We're currently at capacity and have no more room for "donations," either because of purposeful generosity or mere forgetfulness.

Tables will be set out at the April 17 Round-Up for adults to peruse the items their students may have left behind, and after that we'll bag it up and send whatever is left to a good home.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We have a lot of events in the Spring, including Art Night coming up this Thursday, and they all take volunteers to make them run smoothly. Is that you? Could be! Please check out the volunteer portal and sign up for an event (or two) where you could lend a hand (or two)!

SHARE THE FAIR & E-WALLET

Don't forget to load up your student's e-wallet before the Fair. And if you can, contribute to Share the Fair, the giving program that benefits students at our school who need help buying new books.
