Hello Chapman Swifts!
We are so close to the end and it still takes an extra effort from all of us to stay engaged and keep learning until the end of the year. Please continue to remind your children that the race is not over yet. Just a common analogy I use with kids, we cannot stop running when we are so close to the finish line. Next Friday is a more literal example with everyone participating and many parent volunteers at our annual FUNd Run! Thank you Mr. Studt for organizing.
Of course everyone is waiting for the school musical performance next week as well. I have seen many of the previews. Students and parent volunteers have been working hard to give us all a show. Thank you Mr. Clark for the time and creative presence at Chapman, these performances are a real treat.
Another reminder and plug for our Successful Schools Survey. It is an opportunity for students, staff and families to provide important feedback on their school environments, learning experiences, sense of well-being and safety at school. We take the information on this confidential survey to make Chapman better. Please take 15-20 minutes and help us make important decisions for next year around the school climate and the learning environment.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to say goodbye to this beautiful community. As you might have heard, I will not be coming back to Chapman next year. The AP position here was eliminated with the recent budget cuts we are undergoing.
I want to thank all the parents for your patience and goodwill when working directly with me as we navigated different situations at school and to everyone for giving me the chance to get to know your child. I will miss all the children - you have brought so many smiles to my days here and for that I thank you. I will miss not having to call everyone’s attention during lunch - it is remarkable to see about 100 children all at once going quiet. 😀
I will especially miss the performances during Friday Round-up and of course the end of year musical. Such a talented group of kids you all have and what an excellent director in Mr. Clark! I will also miss my co-workers and their constant search for what is best for children as they not only teach content specific lessons but also life lessons on a daily basis. Thank you Ms. Van Der Wolf for taking me under your wing and showing me so many qualities of a leader. I learned so much about the internal workings of a school. I will always remember to keep it short and sweet and have a joke or two at hand - students love to hear and share those with us.
Thank you all for this time together.
