A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL VAN DER WOLF

Greetings Swift Families!

May is flying by and it feels like the end of this remarkable year is coming at us swiftly. So much is happening to both celebrate the year and prepare for a new one. I want to call special attention to our final live Round Up of the year on Friday, June 6th. Our last one of the year is always a spectacular one in which staff does an end-of-year presentation for students. We hope you can join us!

Following the Round Up, we are hosting a volunteer brunch for all of the invaluable volunteers who have helped us out this year.  If you were a classroom volunteer or helped out at recess, even if you just chaperoned a field trip, please let us thank you properly at our Volunteer Brunch. Again, this will be on Friday, June 6th, after Round Up.

As we are planning for next year, it is extremely helpful to know if your family will be returning or not. While we hope everyone stays, we know that we have several families moving over the summer. Please let us know if you are staying, leaving, or if you’re not sure yet on this form: Student Enrollment Information

Please continue reading through the Chimney Flyer to get all of the details about:

  • Next week’s FunD Run

  • Talent Show

  • The weekly Bike Train

Warmly,

Principal Van Der Wolf

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The end of the year is when we need the most help! The FunD Run (May 30) and Field Day (June 6) require many hands to make them run as smoothly as possible and ensure the kids have the most fun. If you are able and willing, please head to the volunteer sign up page and grab a slot. We appreciate all of our volunteers!

HEADED TO WEST SYLVAN?

On June 2, Friends of West Sylvan is hosting a Volunteer Recognition/New Parent Welcome.

The reception will be held at the WSMS library to thank all of the wonderful volunteers and welcome the next class of parents into the community. Friends of West Sylvan believes a successful middle school experience requires parent connection, and they're looking forward to meeting their new parents!

ONE WEEK LEFT TO PLEDGE!

We have one more week of fundraising in order to meet our goal of $36,000. A reminder that this money goes toward:

  • The Community Cares Fund, which assists Chapman families in need.
  • School Field Trips, which provide enriching experiences beyond the classroom.
  • Scholarships for Friendly House Camps, which expand access to valuable summer opportunities.
  • Playground Improvements, which create a safe, inclusive, and fun space for all students.

Every donation counts — no amount is too small!
CHAPMAN FOOD PANTRY

The last Pop-Up Market will be Thurs. June 5 from 2:00 - 6:00

Lift Up will bring fresh food to accompany canned goods.

The market is free and available to those who need assistance.
