A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL VAN DER WOLF

Greetings Chapman Families,

It was so wonderful to see everyone at our Back To School Night. I hope you had a chance to learn a little bit more about Chapman, our goals for the year, and see your child’s classroom. We have some more community events planned for this month that I hope you can attend. Our first is our next live Round Up happening Friday, 10/17. To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, students have been learning a new song that we will all sing together. After Round Up, I will be hosting a “Coffee with the Principal” where I will be sharing information about some of the ways that we measure student learning and we’ll look at some sample data reports that you might be getting in your weekly folders.

The next community event will be our Bingo for Books on 10/29 from 6:00-7:15. We encourage everyone to join us in costume (school appropriate costumes please). Students must be accompanied by an adult.

Fall Fashion Decisions: We have officially entered the time of year when students come to school wearing cold-weather gear that often gets peeled off when they run around at recess and warm up. Please make sure that all coats and jackets are labeled so that we can find the owners if coats are left outside. Please know that we try to have recess outside even if it is raining, so please dress accordingly.

Strengths and Needs Assessment

In this week's Go Home Folders, you'll find a yellow 25-26 Chapman Strengths and Needs Assessment. Please complete and send back to school with your child!  Any questions, please contact Darcy Wilde dwilde@pps.net 971-716-5498.

CHAPMAN NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Please consider VOLUNTEERING at our school to support a wonderful 2025-2026 experience for our students!

So much of what makes Chapman a wonderful place is our community of volunteers, including event help and classroom assistance. Start by submitting your PPS volunteer application and background check. And then check out Chapman's volunteer portal for needs and opportunities.
